Thank God you wrote, I’ve been waiting. This is my worst fear coming to pass. I’m sick.

It’s awful. I seriously don’t think NY is in any way a safe place to live now, especially for Jews. Same as with London or Paris. Progressives destroy these places.

I agree. What’s more I fear it will spread rapidly given its NYC. There’s pockets already around the states that no one notices but NYC is huge. People who understand are all saying “London!” I don’t want to go back to France to live because it’s gone! Some already praying Eric Adam’s comes back as mayor.

I was born in NYC, the daughter of first generation Americans who were born of poor immigrant parents who came here with nothing. We had a tiny apartment on the upper West side and moved to the beautiful suburbs in the early 1950s where I've lived ever since.

Fast forward to 2020 and the Scamdemic- everything you described in your magnificent essay got so much worse thanks to the totalitarian takeover by the Demo-Stalinist-Marxists who run NY.

I used to go down to the City on business several times a month. No more. No need to risk my life being taken by drugged out zombies or third world murderers.

Now that the Hamas/ Momdani devil has been "elected" there is no doubt that the City has fallen.

There is one hope and that is Curtis Sliwa. I truly believe that Curtis could turn things around if he can get elected. Thus far and as per usual, the NY GOP is not really supporting him. I pray that in the next few months all the smart big Money people put up $$ for their own sake if not ours.

There is such a huge difference between immigrants who come to a place to become part of what’s happening in a positive way and immigrants who never intend to integrate or contribute in any way, and we are always supposed to pretend that the second group are the same as the first group.

Growing up in my home, I remember my parents telling one of my Italian grandmothers to "speak English" which I never understood and also which I resented.

It seemed cruel to me that my parents seemed to want to obliterate and forget their background that included Sicily, Poland, Hungary, Germany, et al.

Even before I got married, I would ask my dad about our ancestors and all he would say is that we are Americans - that's it. Not Italian -Americans or Polish-Americans. Just plain Americans.

As I grew older and more political, I came to understand why my parents were the way they were. They loved this country so much- it gave them all that they had.

I will never understand a creep like Momdani who it all handed to him on a silver platter and yet he hates America and wants to destroy it. He and some of the others like the Somali princess Ilhan Omar should be run out of town on a rail.

Reality, what a concept!

It's a very sad thing to see. This is what happens when weak people are voting for an easy way out. IF these "immigrants" like this way of life, why don't they stay where they are and enjoy that system? Why do we allow these mass influx of those who have no idea of our systems, political ideas and history?

I know those are rhetorical questions but WE have allowed it and NOW, WE need to fix it.

Most are to damn lazy to vote in primaries where it really counts. I've worked for my county at the polls and I can tell you that we get excited when we have 20% turnout. What a shame.

Most have little or no appreciation of how lucky we are and why we should preserve what we have. 😕

Daniel, as in all your posts, you are brutally honest. I and my parents, experienced Socialism for the first 15 years of my life in Poland with “Empty Shelves”. You can read my first hand account in the link below. When we emigrated legally waiting 10 years for our visa, we became Americans; we didn’t speak Polish at home. I left NYC in the early 70’s after graduate school to LA in the Golden State. And it still was paradise with orange groves where only now concrete and tents grow. Seven years ago, we escaped LA to very civil South Carolina; it better stay that way because I am not moving again! I didn’t f—-up my past locations - I paid and I am still paying my taxes!

Sadiq Khan wouldn't have won anything, even with his Muslim block, if the rest of London had actually voted together for an alternative. My daughters voted for "the looney Independent so he doesn't lose his deposit" and Count Binface. Because they said Khan would win as most people don't bother voting.

At some point, these cities and their dumb mayors will have to chose - Islam or Pride. Because, when it comes down to it, Islam will simply slaughter Pride and those flabby sexual freaks will be easy pickings for the Followers of Peace. I always think Khan has that same scared rabbit in the headlights look that Volodomir Zelensky has. Actually, Kiki Stammer has it too. People who know they are walking a tightrope - undoubtedly the Soviet Union was full of politicians with that expression!

My Deptford daughter thinks it will end up being the white folk and West Indian descended Brits who have to square up to the Third World Massive. Hopefully, she will have moved out of Deptford before it gets to that!

I used to think London could survive anything but it never dawned on me the authorities would simply replace the people. It's depressing that young people, who don't remember a white country, will simply merge with all the replacements without realising what they are losing. They will end up with half-caste offspring who belong nowhere. The women will be treated as chattels, the men will be beaten into submission in many different ways but they won't realise what life was like in previous generations so they won't know what they have become. Depressing.

Just 30% and less White British in London now, and in the SE the same thing is happening. My town is very rapidly changing demographically and we are 35-40 mins away from London by train. I think you are right as well how fear plays a part as well as betrayal.

Yes - I live near the Medway Towns. Once solidly white working class and now being filled with 3rd and 4th generation West Indians who are themselves being pushed out of London. The former Elephant & Castle and Pepys Estate people who replaced the white working class south Londoner are now replacing the former dockyard worker who is going to end up where? Even the seaside towns of Thanet are being given over to "refugees". Apparently people from Kosovo are building up a nice little home-away-from-home. These b*stard politicians have turned us all into accidental racists and it's only a matter of time before Highgate, Hampstead, Dulwich and even Chipping Norton get their quota. Then what?

A hard-hitting article that sums-up the madness that has overtaken western civilisation and it's history. The closing words - 'Now is the now of no past and no end which reminds me of INGSOC in George Orwell's famous novel where the true past is consigned to 'the memory hole' and a present and future a flexible fabrication of the party.

Great piece, and here are my nitpicks. Two examples from this piece: (1) Fact check: "Give me your tired, your poor" has nothing intrinsically to do with the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift from France. Emma Lazarus wrote the poem and it got associated with the statue by leftists. The poem was actually set to music and we sang it at school around 1950.

(2) Probably just a slip on your part: "The kind of insanities that DOGE financed abroad on behalf of the CIA’s social engineering..." You mean USAID, not DOGE. DOGE exposed USAID. You need a little more proofreading.

Jupplandia's avatar

Yes, well spotted. I’ll correct the DOGE one. The other didn’t mean the association is correct, I meant the opposite. It’s made and it’s a poor argument for open borders.

I'm reading this the day after the worst "election" ever held in NY City. The author is absolutely correct- Nueva York has indeed fallen and the DemonRats have been given free rein. ( I am new to the Jupplandia substack and find the writer's work both enjoyable and terrifying)

The City is worse today than it was in the 1970s when you took your life in your hands if you walked in certain neighborhoods- day or night.

The Mamdani coalition of Commies, freaks and self-hating Jews will destroy what's left of NYC.

I will never understand what possesses the Chosen People to get in bed with monsters like Momdani who don't even hide their belief that the Jews should be wiped out. WTF is wrong with them?

I saw Curtis Sliwa on the news today and he seems confident he can somehow get elected. Every sane person who can vote in that shit hole aka NYC needs to support him- it's the only chance you have to take back what was once the greatest city in the world from the vermin that are currently in control.

I just posted the following at LinkedIn where I have a fairly decent reach, now and again. Despite the aggressive censoring and suppression that exists all across big tech platforms but is far less ham-fisted than before, courtesy of more recent significant tech upgrades.

Simply stated, the overwhelming majority of the aggressive censoring and suppression now is largely entirely hidden. Very few social media users even notice, or have finally accepted their digital town squares have been drastically ratcheted way down, into tiny echo chamber silos. Brave New Digital World, indeed. Anyway, here is the referenced post I first mentioned above, that I just did at LinkedIn:

SUCCESS #1 OF THE “GREAT REPLACEMENT”?

+++

I spent a fair amount of time yesterday evening with Grok at X, running various scenarios.

Even using the most conservative, “official” totals on illegal immigrants in #NYC *from before the deliberate invasion of illegals illegally allowed/ brought in by the Installed Obidenistas Regime* and especially if only the estimated 1.1 million of the #NYC registered voters participated in this election, the illegals could easily “own the day”. Period.

+++

And if you want to discount my referring to the “Great Replacement” because it has been debunked, then I frankly can’t see how you even deserve this barely-still *Constitutionsl Representative Republic* to survive.

That is, for it to survive this obviously final phase of a many decades long mostly-methodical process destroying it, at the hands of the impressive numbers of Enemies within the Gates - and their armies of “Useful Idiots” - together arrayed against her.

To be more specific, the very fact the “Great Replacement” is a topic that has very successful been entirely-removed from the public consciousness, tells us all we need to know on it.

+++

NOTE I also included a screenshot of both Stephen Miller’s X post on the #NYC election plus my short reply to him at X.

As always clear and substantiated. I truly shudder to think what awaits New York. I appreciated your hat tip to my former home Portland Oregon as providing a model for the upcoming downward spiral thanks to Progressive policies. Portland is circling the drain with empty office buildings, greatly reduced tax base and declining property values.

I don’t understand the appeal of Progressivism other than it appeals to lazy losers. When I was growing up we want to achieve and become independent. This generation wants to live in mom’s basement and do TikTok and video games

I think this creature will be NYC’s most successful mayor in history! Past democrats were mixed but not this guy, he’ll deliver for the left the death and destruction they’ve always wanted but never had the courage to ask for out loud. The woke university professor transing the kids, the gay bathhouse visitor having condomless sex with multiple strangers, the flag waving Mexican refusing to learn English or to reconsider 12 as the age of sexual consent from where he sends his welfare check and the jihadi jumping with joy at the BLM activist sucker punching a white pensioner all worship death so now they can all finally achieve full political expression for their hearts of darkness.

Very true, "Conrad told us that the line between barbarism and civilization runs through every heart, whether the skin above it is black or white." This reminds me of the famous Hannah Arendt who coined the term “the banality of evil". Not monsters but ordinary people were able to follow Hitler’s murderess ideology.

The sacrifices my mother's generation made in the now was to ensure that her daughter's future would be better. Immigrants came here to build up America, not to tear it down, they embraced the American freedoms and opportunities the West provided them. Grateful to escape from regimes that destroyed lives.
