My guess is the two toxic males were yelling at the lesbian pilot because she was 200 feet too high and in the path of 2 oncoming planes. She had a hissy fit because they had no right to talk to her like that, when she hit the plane. She worked in the Biden Whitehouse and likely got a promotion based on a Whitehouse recommendation giving her a sense of entitlement. You could say I’ve become a cynic when it comes to human nature. I’ve also spent a lot of time around lesbians who tend to have a lot of hissy fits, not all but many. I’m probably the only person who would say this out loud.
You’re probably not far from what actually happened. It looks very much like she was either seriously incompetent or intended a collision. 450 hours flight history, 200 of that would be her initial training. All the WH extra-curricular duties, plus some abuse advisor type role. In just 4 years she gets promoted to a position of some responsibility. But she’s only had minimal flight experience. 200 hours over 4 years, what does that make? Looks like this flight may have been an annual check on her. But she flies erratically, ignores two warnings, flies over the middle of the river when she’s supposed to hug the bank, flies above the height ceiling for her flight plan. Then they withhold her name until they have scrubbed all her social media? 🤔
Do I have to be the asshole wondering why the DoD, at the request of the family, aren't releasing the name of the copilot and also wondering who was in the flight crew of the helicopter that narrowly missed a commercial aircraft the night before?
Well, I don’t think it’s being an arsehole at all to ask those questions. Asking questions is what is needed in an investigation of either a crime or a tragedy.
Good if not brilliant points made. I trained as a private pilot in USA, and am watching this keenly. It is very important to understand that planes fly because they get lift. Helicopters fly because of downdraft. Thus a Helicoptor can stop and hover. I have had personal experience of an ATC doing this when I had been granted permission to take off and needed to fly up through a Helicoptor route. The helicopter stopped and hovered.
A very well balanced appraisal. Personally I think Trump would have done better to avoid the DEI allusion since there are no grounds for suspecting it's involved in this instance and his team is already demolishing DEI generally across the board.

I really, really hope I'm wrong.

...the take away? Always have someone looking outside in the direction of travel.
That thing flew straight and level into the passenger plane.
Black Hawk is two words. The naval variant, Seahawk, is one word. Never call them choppers. Tips from an engineer that built them…
Troon pilot. And top Aviation man a DEI appt. NO aviation background.
Excellent piece, Daniel. It should be required reading for all ….
I thought President Trump handled the situation very well.
DEI or transcribed DIE

Excellent as usual, Daniel.
