I’ll take exception to one point - the Nazi Hamas comparison. One day in 1941 my grandmothers entire town was slaughtered into a ditch. I have the Yizkor book. Did a young Nazi get drunk afterward? I don’t care. In another incident, a baby was tossed up and used for target practice. There may have been laughter. I could go on and on...So, why on earth the trendy comparison between German speaking soulless butchers and Hamas? I am not sure what’s worse, smartly dressed, “cultured” high tech, and highly organized German killers or the down and dirty raping Hamas. I almost think the orderliness of the Germans and their similarity to us makes them more frightening. Please let’s not erase the brutality and conscienceless behavior that stole my family and my people from me in the 20th century.
But I appreciate what you wrote and that you cared to write it. You’re correct there’s a silence around me. I don’t believe I’ve received one phone call or other spontaneous message of concern.
When an entire culture does this ‘vanishing act’ after atrocities then that culture loses not only it’s moral authority and it’s soul but it’s very purpose for existing. And then evil wins.

...and it is done subconsciously; I had the misfortune to listed to a programme called Antisocial on BBC Radio 4. Part of the show featured the poppy as a symbol. The guests were an utter windbag, James Essex, who stated that he would not be wearing a poppy on Remembrance Sunday, and the vile and disgusting Femi Oluwole, a well-known race-baiter and pro-EU activist. Bastards both.
