Another inciteful read. As always your extraordinary mind cuts like a scalpel through the propaganda to the heart of the matter.

People reserve their greatest hatred for those who, by their actions or very existence, represent a threat to the self-image of the haters. Elitists like the Cheneys view themselves as the ones who are inherently responsible for all that is good in America. Trump has, by reversing many of their policies to great success, by disregarding their politic speech, and by speaking to the average American with respect rather than condescension, made the elitists look out of touch. That’s unforgivable.

Yes very true. His policies threatened their status and wealth. The success of his policies were an enormous blow to their self-image. The two things go together and provide both a practical and a psychological explanation of the hatred.

Too damned bad the sheep in America -the ones who think the Cheney's are wonderful people - can't read this article. I'll repost it and make it 'public' in hopes that one of them just might.

God's blessings on you and family, Daniel. You are an American Patriot albeit not on American soil.

Funny that you mentioned Victoria Nuland - she was a Dick Cheney toadie as he was the one who brought her into government and originally put her in the State Department.

Every President since Ronald Reagan was deep state. Jimmy Carter was a maybe except when he ran & won as Governor, his slogan was’We’re gonna beat you down” & he had small baseball bats he gave away with it inscribed on the bats, it referred to blacks going to white business. If people would have known that he never could have been elected. That had to be deep state. Trump is the only person. The world sure looks different now

True. It’s the same in the UK. Everyone since Thatcher has been a Globalist and Deep State puppet. Liz Truss had one policy difference with them, and was immediately removed by coup.

Excellent essay as always. I think all this hatred and laughable projection, propaganda and lies about Trump comes back to 'protecting US hegemonic interest' which means protecting the global corporate/government/military/pharma cash cow alliance used to maintain the current global order whilst plundering the resources of the planet to feed the corporates and the super wealthy financing it.

This connects so well to the "I was once a historian named Henry" fellow who wrote that inverted piece I was pulled into this weekend. These elites are insufferable and are truly a danger for the ages.

We are witnessing a power move to control the historical record. It makes my stomach hurt. We are living through this period and have a clear memory of the facts. I recall my Grandmother explaining her more youthful years and experiences in the early 1900s such as the eugenics movement from Margaret Sanger: the history books proffered by modern day historians paint her as a saint, which of course, the opposite is true. Sanger is from a vile and hideous period of time that seems to have grown to an almost impossible level.

The Cheney, McCain, Clinton, Bush, and Obama clans all seem to be supporting the same agenda: protection and proliferation of their power structures and historical legacy. I'm sure you are seeing this same phenomenon in the UK.

The traitorous Cheney’s make me like Trump even more.

I have been looking forward to this, Daniel. The BBC reported (gleefully) the Cheney comments a few days ago and I anticipated an excellent and comprehensive demolition - I was not disappointed! Thank you 🙏
