Brought up near Manchester, which has always had a significant Jewish population; indeed, when Manchester City in the 1950s, signed up German ex-POW, Bert Trautmann, as their goalie (and by God he was a very fine one), there were widespread protests.

Which stopped when the Grand Rabbi of Manchester spoke openly saying what happened in the war was nothing to do with Bert, who was to become a local hero; indeed, when the awful Munich plane crash of 1958 occurred, Bert offered his services as a translator to United and they took him up.

I had a Jewish friend at primary - and prep school (and a Muslim one as well! 1950s); our dentists were Jewish and family friends.

My old man was quite a character in the village; well known and well respected. Our local posh golf club ( we had two) asked him if he would be an honorary VP (he didn't play the game)

Delighted, he replied - as soon as you allow Jews to be members. Never heard from them again!

I love the Jewish people and their extraordinary contributions; see how may Jews have won Nobel prizes compared to Muslims. Israel is an extraordinary nation, the eternal scapegoat for all the ills of the Middle East.

During lockdown, I decided (a believing Christian without a church - I'd be C of E were Welby not busy dismantling it) to read the Bible (KJ version of course) cover to cover. Alongside it, to inform myself, read various learned commentaries. By the time I had finished reading it, I knew I had to reread it. At Proverbs again!

Not only is it the tale of God, it is the history of Israel; Jews have lived in that part of the world since the Bronze Age, and long before Islam was even a fart in the wind.

God bless Israel, and the Jewish people.

Wonderful writing as per usual Daniel. ❤️

Let’s face it, Israel has done more to fight terrorism than all the other countries put together. I’m often asked as a Christian, why I don’t agree that there should be a ceasefire. Thankfully I’m no wishy washy church of england Christian. I know what and who I stand for. I quote David’s son, King Solomons writings in the Bible. Ecclesiastes 3 verse 1-8. There’s a time for everything. You don’t mess with Gods people. It’s now a time for war.

Wise old man was Solomon……

Thanks Syl. Yes, if there is a time for war, it is surely after an event like Oct 7th. There can't be any better justification than that.

Most definitely. To think it’s almost a year ago. The vilest thing I’ve ever seen in my lifetime.

I’m reading your post yet again…. I usually do three times. I read and absorb.

Me and loads of others are thankful for your wisdom and how good a wordsmith you are!

Come to think, Solomon and you have a lot in common 🤣 X

I watched Naomi Wolf's interview on Daily Cout of Pastor Kahn last night and it was fascinating. He is a messianic Jew ( follows Jesus). He says everything that is happening now is predicted in the bible. He actually told his congegation on Oct 6th that there would be an attack shortly upon Israel. Interestingly he says the Philistines are in fact the Palestinians and weirdly that they used to live then in the land now called the Gaza strip. I suggest you watch! I love Naomi.

Thanks Caroline, sounds interesting. I’ve got a lot of respect for Wolf. She was brave on both covid measures and in reappraising Trump once she had grown out of her learned prejudices.

This was a magnificent manifesto, young man. I do pray that your increasing contact with Christianity will lead you closer to God. But even for those outside the Law, who observe the Law, they are for themselves a Law.

If there is one contemporary human deserving of the name "Hitler" that man is Benjamin Netanyahu.

I am not a "Jew Hater" nor do I deny the Holocaust. I have Jewish friends who agree that this is a stark case of victim-turned oppressor, enabled by gross misinformation campaigns and a horrific inside-job psyop. You won't take it from me of course, but you can hear Holocaust survivor Vera Sharav tell the truth of what's going on: https://open.substack.com/pub/celiafarber/p/vera-sharav-is-a-child-surivor-of?r=q4die&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

That’s a ridiculous and even evil position to take. It’s the position taken by Marxists and Islamists. It’s the position that excuses and justifies Islamic terrorist atrocities. To be honest I thought you were better than that Joanie. But as your share indicates, there are even Jews who are indoctrinated with contemporary propaganda so fully that they hate Israel, and I guess even Holocaust survivors can be brainwashed to support Islamic evil against Jews today too.

I am always on the side of civilisation and truth. It’s very simple in this case. Hamas are filthy animals from the Iron Age. Israelis are the only true democracy in the Middle East. I’m not really interested in people who confuse victim and aggressor, whatever the source, and this applies to people I’ve agreed with on other topics just as it does to others backing Islamic barbarism.

Great article. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East where everyone has equal rights including Arabs and homosexuals and where there is the rule of law. For me that's the start and the end of it. Also, as I understood it, Palestinians didn't own that land ever - they were gypsies and despised by other Arabs, hence their disinclination to allow them to settle in their countries. Lebanon, as you say (which was a majority Christian country!!) was soft hearted and allowed the viper to nestle in their bosom. As we all know, that was the end of Lebanon as a peaceful, successful country. Even when land has been given to the Palestinians by the Israelis, they trash it - smashing up anything the Israelis built.
