As a general rule, people who have power do not voluntarily give it up (there are a few exceptions, but not many). For the first time in a generation, those who run the West are being challenged by people who disagree with them, people from outside the middle class uniparty, people who want to take power from the Establishment, having seen what they've done over the last thirty years or so. And the Establishment are fighting tooth and claw to avoid giving up power, using every legal and illegal tactic they can think of. We will have to take power from them comprehensively, beyond all question of restoration.

You failed to mention how all these horrors (Trump and Brexit and the inability to stay in your second home in France for more than 6 months a year) have undoubtedly been caused by Literal Hitler Putin Who Is Mad. Some of all this is because people have been poorly educated for decades and some of it is because people have stopped realising how rich and comfortable they are and so are looking for something to complain about. The Remainers are also The Covidians and The Climate Catastrophists and The Free Palestinians and The All Illegal Immigrants Are Doctors and The White Men Are Always The Rapists. Don't invited them to your dinner parties, would be my advice (speaking from experience)!

Indeed Neural Foundry's observation that "refusal to accept democratic results mirrors an abusive mindset ...counts as valid" fits the SNP experience like a glove. Next year's election should be quite instructive.
